Mera Kikiheart is an Old Republic padawan training under Jedi Knight Vigil Renor, one of the only other Vurk in the Jedi Order.
Taken from her home planet at a young age, Mera's first impression in her creche was to nurture everyone there. Little Mera would get upset when some of the carnivorous younglings ate, because she worried they were killing sentients. She was known for throwing those meals across the room with the Force. She loved animals and helped her fellow younglings get away with pranks and other misdeeds. Though she initially did it to protect them, she developed her own streak of mischief, though she hates cruel pranks.
The Jedi continually told her to control her emotions, but Mera thought that emotions were what made sentients sentient, how could they be bad? As she got closer to padawan age and the idea of being kicked to the MediCorps grew more likely, she shifted her wild emotion to something else. It was still there, flowing with the Force, but she kept it hidden from authorities. It would burst into life when she practiced with her lightsaber, interacted with crechemates and animals, and allowed her love to fuel her into success with the Force. Her master found humor in the stubborn Vurk girl and decided to take her on as his padawan.
When Knight Renor wasn't at the Jedi Temple, he lived on Kashyyyk, studying the flora and fauna and the jungle planet's connection to the Force. Kashyyyk quickly became Mera's favorite planet. The place teemed with the living Force! That was where Mera decided she would dedicate her life to protecting all living creatures as a Guardian of the Force.
