Background
Valera Nirin grew up on the crime-infested world of Nar Shaddaa, the “Smuggler’s Moon.” Her early life was a constant struggle for survival in the seedy underbelly of the galaxy, surrounded by gangs, mercenaries, and corrupt officials. Orphaned at a young age, she was taken in by a small-time bounty hunter named Drex Harlo. Drex was ruthless, yet he had a code—he never hunted anyone who didn’t deserve it. Val became his apprentice, learning to track, fight, and survive.
By the time she was a teenager, Val had earned her reputation as a skilled bounty hunter, known for her sharp instincts and no-nonsense attitude. But unlike Drex, who worked solely for money, Val developed her own sense of justice. After Drex was killed by a rival syndicate, she decided to leave the bounty hunting life behind, disgusted by the corruption and betrayal that came with it.
Driven by her own moral compass, Val now wanders the galaxy as a lone mercenary, offering her services only to those she deems worthy. She refuses to work for oppressive regimes or criminal organizations, preferring to protect the innocent and fight against injustice wherever she finds it. This often puts her at odds with the law, making her an outlaw in many systems.
Val has no interest in galactic politics or the Force, viewing them as distant problems compared to the suffering she’s seen on the fringes of the galaxy. She’s seen the worst the galaxy has to offer, and while it’s hardened her, it’s also made her compassionate toward the downtrodden. She has no love for the Empire, viewing them as little better than the criminal organizations she grew up around.

Bounty:______________________
Val's past caused her to run afoul of a small time hutt, Gola the Slight. Val unknowingly accepted a contract to capture one of Gola's top lieutenants who was wanted by a rival faction for stealing valuable cargo. The lieutenant was integral to Gola’s operations, managing several critical smuggling routes.
Upon successfully capturing and delivering Gola's lieutenant to her client, your player caused a significant disruption in Gola's operations. The loss of his lieutenant not only hindered his smuggling activities but also embarrassed him among other criminal entities, who saw his inability to protect his crew as a sign of weakness. Embittered and seeking retribution, but understanding the risks of targeting a competent bounty hunter directly, Gola placed a cautious bounty on Val.
