Background
RK-PN was first brought by the senator of a mid-rim colony which joined the Republic a little more than a decade before the rise of the Empire. It was programmed to assist the new delegate in his functions and ease his insertion in the maze of bureaucracy that was the Republic. As the years passed, it continued its work, unperturbed by the troubles of the galaxy at large and the change in government. The forms stay the same even if the names on it changes after all.
Unfortunately, his owner was not a perfect example of cold efficiency unhampered by such things as feelings, virtues and common decency. The senator made the mistake of making his dislike of the new order known a little too loudly and soon found his end in a tragic accident. Like the rest of the defunct senator's belonging, RK-PN was sent back to the colony and lost when the cargo was boarded by pirates on the way back from Coruscant.
In truth, the colony's government was not blind to the assassination of their representative and decided that the new order was not one they liked to be a part of. They made a deal with a local rebel cell to discreetly finance them and provide supply convoys that the rebels could pick up under the guise of piracy.
And so, RK-PN found himself in the service of the budding Rebel Alliance, continuing his work as a personal assistant and quartermaster. His job? Make sure the rest of the team can accomplish their job in the most efficient way.
