Background
Nam was taken from his home at the age of 2 to train as a Jedi Youngling. He advanced swiftly to the rank of Padawan, apprenticed to Jedi Knight Grence Minch.
Nam then spent 3 years as a soldier in the Clone wars, never seeing the most intense battles, but equally not spared its violent details.
On top of his experience in battle, Minch trained Nam in the ways of the Jedi, primarily that the ideal way of resolving conflict is through words, rather than with a Lightsaber. Somewhat incongruously he also trained him extensively in Form 6 of Lightsaber combat.
In the final year of the Clone Wars, Nam also witnessed the unfolding of the brutal events which transpired after Order 66. He was currently stationed in the Jedi Temple, his master dispatched on some distant planet. While there, he was cut down by Anakin Skywalker while attempting to defend a group of younglings.
The blow should have killed him, however he was left only with a distinctive scar travelling from his sternum up to the side of his temple. He awoke a short time later, staggering to his ship, having time only to gather a collection of training holocrons created by Minch.
Of the 20 or so years after the execution of Order 66, Nam retains little memory. All he is left with is a feeling that whatever he did then is not something that he should be proud of. As well as this, whatever actions he did take across this period significantly damaged his previously strong connection to the force.
Ever since then, Nam Klah has sought peace through the force, using both the holocrons he recovered from the temple and his own experiences to slowly, but surely, restore his connection to the force.
Motivation
I aim to eventually restore my full connection to the force, doing so only in a way in keeping with Jedi principles.

Compassion / Hatred
Nam has genuine compassion for all living creatures, as they are one in the force. In rare occasions, his distaste towards people who needlessly take life can boil over into hatred.
