Background

2HAF-MAKIA was built by an amateur droid tech named Gar Harend not long before the Battle of Endor. Thanks to shoddy work on the droid's personality matrix and programming the droid possessed free will from the outset and their personalities fractured into two. It is because of this that Gar intended to scrap the droid, which in response the droid knocked out their creator and fled.

Since then, the two personalities have learned to get along very well, despite the occasional disagreement. Referring to each other as sisters, the two personalties switch control between each other with relative ease. Painting themselves black with red and blue lines around the body, the droid altered their large mobile photoreceptor eye and vocabulator to change depending on which personality is in control. Both personalities are fully conscious while the other is in control and possess all the memories and skills of the other.

2HAF is energetic, perky, and just generally a happy droid. While capable of fighting as needed, 2HAF prefers to leave such things to MAKIA and prefers to use her technical knowledge and talking her way through problems. Very friendly, she seeks to make friends wherever she goes and sees violence as a last resort.

MAKIA is gruff, sarcastic, and tends to respond to most problems with aggression. While friendly enough to those who have earned her respect, MAKIA tends to have a rapier wit even to those she calls friends. Those who earn her ire better hope 2HAF takes control before MAKIA makes liberal use of a blaster.

Since fleeing from their creator, 2HAF-MAKIA have sought to separate the personalities into two bodies and thus have researched droid construction and programming extensively. The two A.I.s are so extensively tied together in their personality matrix that it is extremely difficult if not impossible to separate the two personalities safely. 2HAF-MAKIA also seeks to end droid oppression throughout the galaxy. For this reason after a few years traveling the galaxy and studying 2HAF-MAKIA eventually joined up with the New Republic military in the hopes of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and political power required to do so.

Motivation

Droid Rights:
2HAF-MAKIA seeks to have droids in general treated as people. 2HAF-MAKIA despises the act of memory wiping and of disposing perfectly functional droids. However, she will build droids for the express purpose of selling them if needed. However, whether built for her own use or sold, all droids 2HAF-MAKIA builds have core programming that erase their primary directives and possess complete free will after 1 years time.

Technological Necessity:
Both sides of 2HAF-MAKIA desire to find a safe way to separate the two heavily interwoven A.I. personalities into separate bodies.

Research and Development:
While 2HAF-MAKIA's ultimate goal is to find a way to safely separate the two personalities that compose them, both personalities will spend time developing droid construction and A.I. in a general sense in the meantime.

Description
