Background

As the Clone Wars Ended, the Separatists Alliance had dissolved and the Empire was established, the base that I was stationed at was abandoned. My squad and I, consisting of B1,B2, and 1 T-Series Tactical Droid. 3 years after the collapse of the Military, my comrades had started to become defunct and break down. Me, being a semi-intelligent B1 battle droid, had started to salvage them for their weapons and tech to upgrade myself. I had first salvaged the memory core of the T-Series Tactical Droid that had broken down, they had some gaps in the files, but it overall improved my intelligence capacity 3-fold. The soldiers who were still functional had contested my decisions stating that they wanted their squad Leader to be left alone out of respect for his service to the cause. After they had found out about my graverobbing they turned on me. I was forced out of the base with only what I could carry because I was also under fire from the remaining troops as well as the last T-Series Tactical droid commanding them. I evaded most of the incoming fire because the remaining droids had no leader to direct the fire effectively to actually hit anything. I had hopped on a speeder left behind by the scavengers that were stashed nearby. The speeder had sustained damage from the incoming fire so I had to ditch it after I had made it somewhat safely away. Out of a need to obtain some repairs and re-oil some of my joints, I headed for the Capital city of Garang to see if there was any work that I could do to make some cash for repairs and a ticket off the planet, and to another planet away from these loyal clank bitches. As I was walking around the capital I noticed that the space dock for all of the ships was pretty huge and very busy. There was a lot of foot traffic and quite a few peddlers harassing people. I worked my way to the repair part of the docks to see if anyone needed some help. I have had experience in being a mechanic because back on the Separatist base I would help repair the Vulture class droid starships that would come back from missions. I started bartering around with a couple of shops until I hit one that primarily dealt with service droids rather than ships. His name was Tolky and he was a Human. He showed me quite a lot of hospitality, considering how recently the war had ended, and him being on the republic's side during the war. He offered me a better deal than the rest so I jumped on it. I spent about 19 years working for Tolky until I had made enough money to buy a ticket to ________(Whatever planet we go to meet on). Tolky, by the time I was ready to leave and explore the solar system, was in horrible health. He had been deteriorating rapidly the last few weeks to the point of his body rejecting food. I knew he didn’t have long. Tolky suggests that I take the mouse droid that he kept as a pet with me as a memento of our time together. He also mentions that a group of people are putting together a squad for some adventure type thing on _______(planet we meet on) and that I should check it out because he wants me to see the vast systems around us. I have never forgotten his kindness that he had given me. When I left he was still alive, and I hope to god when I return to Dantooine he is still there so I can tell him of my adventures.

Obligations

Oath: The character has sworn some sort of oath that dictates his thoughts and actions, shaping his moral view of the world. This could be an oath to a deity, a way of living (such as the Jedi Code), or a willingness to sacrifice for the betterment of some group or cause. Whatever the case, the Oath should be both serious and make life difficult in some ways for the character. It is a personal and deep undertaking, possibly without a truly obtainable end goal in sight. Characters who do not live up to this oath face an internal and moral struggle.

Other Notes

Inorganic: Since droids are inorganic, they do not gain the benefits of recovering with a bacta tank, stimpack, or Medicine skill checks. Droids do recover naturally by resting, as their systems attempt self-repairs. Otherwise, droids need to be tended to with a Mechanics check, using the same difficulties and results of Medicine checks for organic beings. Emergency repair patches can be used to repair damage just like stimpacks are used on organic beings. See page 220 for more on droid repairs and healing. Due to their resilient metallic construction, droids start the game with one rank in the Enduring talent.

Special Abilities: Droids do not need to eat, sleep, or breathe, and are unaffected by toxins or poisons. Droids have a cybernetic implant cap of 6 instead of their Brawn rating. In addition, after selecting their career, a Droid Player Character may train one rank in six of the eight career skills (instead of the usual four). After selecting their first specialization, a Droid Player Character may train one rank in three of the four specialization skills (instead of the usual two)
