Hailing from one of the Clan-Fortresses of Panatha, born to the Clan's Lord and one of his mistresses, Masuyo was swept away at a young age to join one of the many Warrior Orders of Panatha, an all female one known as the Order of the White Rose. Here she learned swordsmanship, combat medicine and other practical skills, as well as the knowledge on how to put on the ceremonial makeup of her Order (Think Geishas) as well as their fancy hairstyling. She still keeps the latter skills as well.

At the age of 20 she left the Order for unknown reasons, some rumors saying that she went to pursue a lover, other's say she was chased out. Whatever the reason, she has spent the last few years traveling the stars, never staying in one place to long, doing work and using most of the money to buy booze. The other highlights of her life was that time she nearly got married to another Warrior, who gave her first cup of booze and lees.
