Mitth'ras'tallok, known simply as Thrast to those outside the Ascendancy, was born into the Mitth family, one of the Ruling Families of the Chiss Ascendancy. From a young age, he showed exceptional aptitude in both strategy and combat, making him a rising star within the Chiss military hierarchy. Thrast was known for his calm demeanor, analytical mind, and a deep sense of duty to the Chiss people.During his early years, Thrast served as a military tactician, defending the Ascendancy from external threats in the Unknown Regions. However, Thrast’s unorthodox methods and willingness to question orders often put him at odds with the more conservative members of Chiss leadership.Thrast’s life took a pivotal turn when he encountered the Galactic Empire during an expedition into known space. Initially sent to assess the threat the Empire posed to the Chiss, Thrast was both fascinated and disturbed by the ruthless efficiency and oppressive nature of the Imperial regime. Through his observations, he realized that the Empire's expansionist tendencies could one day threaten the Chiss Ascendancy.Despite his misgivings, Thrast maintained his duty to the Ascendancy, keeping his thoughts to himself. However, during a covert mission that brought him in contact with a Rebel Alliance cell, he witnessed the hope and determination of those fighting against the Empire’s tyranny. This encounter sparked a conflict within him, as he struggled with his loyalty to the Ascendancy and his growing belief that the Empire needed to be stopped.After a series of covert operations, Thrast eventually made the difficult decision to defect from the Chiss Ascendancy and join the Rebel Alliance.
