Background
Udina Ahnajoens was the lore keeper for his clan. When the Hutts came and enslaved his people he was forced by the Hutts to help round up any cultural artifacts that could fetch the Hutts a pretty penny.
This position under Hutt "employ" meant that he had a modicum of trust from the Hutts and was only under light guard. When there was a high-profile assassination at the Hutt compound he saw the opportunity to take out his lone guard and make his escape.
