Background

Azx fell in with the wrong crowd on his home of Slayn in the Roche asteroid belt. He found himself contracted to a Verpine crime lord that ran a black market tech operation out of Slayn. Azx, like most Verpine is a handy mechanic, but also had an ingrained need to help the sick and injured. Putting himself through medical training on Salvara, he returned to Slayn to ply his new trade.

He was quickly blackmailed by the crime-lord and brought under their heel, now contracted to repair or replace injured limbs and organs for the boss' henchmen. The boss clipped Azx's antennae so he would be unable to communicate with his former hive and tell them he was in trouble. Using his medical and mechanical skills, he crafted cybernetic antenna which allowed him to communicate with his hive again. The boss put a swift end to this by tinkering with the antennae while Azx was under duress and making them only broadcast to the boss and their crew.

Azx has been allowed to leave Slayn under the condition that 75% of all credits earned come back to the boss, or else.

Azx, impressed with his own work, has become somewhat obsessed with replacing parts of his body with cybernetics, and often recommends others do the same. They are much easier to maintain after all.

Motivation

Cause: The Weak
Azx wants to help those in need, sick, injured etc. He will offer to "enhance" them at any given opportunity.

Improvements: Efficiency
Azx wants to improve organic beings with cybernetics to make them more efficient. Mechanical beings are already much better at doing things that organics can not, Azx wishes to impart that information to the galaxy.

Obligations

Servitude 10: Azx found himself working under the employ of a nefarious crime-lord, responsible for patching up/replacing lost limbs of their enforcers. Now allowed to leave Slayn, his boss has demanded a large portion of credits earned go straight to them, or else. He kept 2,500cr hidden from the boss in order to further augment himself with cybernetics, honing his craft in the process.

Responsibility 10: Azx feels responsible to help anyone desperately in need, especially those with physical injuries that can be repaired with cybernetics.

Description

Age: 32
Height: 195cm

Azx is a fairly standard Verpine with blue chitinous skin, big, black compound eyes and spindly limbs.

Notably he has cybernetic antennae where natural ones were forcibly removed. These can only be used to communicate with his boss or other members of the mob within 100km.

He wears a backpack made from some exotic animal skin. On the right hand strap is a special loop from which hangs Azx's hydrospanner. Over his body he wears a thin, yellow jumpsuit with rubberised epaulettes, cut off at the knees and elbows. Concealed within a pocket inside his jumpsuit is Azx's holdout blaster.

Other Notes

Hydrospanner - Gains automatic AD on mechanics checks.
Verpine - gains BO to perception to closely examine something.
Verpine - can normally broadcast to commlinks or other Verpine within 100km, but cybernetic replacements only allow communication with crime boss.
Cybernetic Respirator: always counts as having a rebreather.
Neural Recorder: can attempt an Easy Discipline check to recall any information perceived by his senses.
