Gnat's family was nomadic, never really living on any 1 specific planet. He was even born in hyperspace. But they were loving parents, working as mercenaries to make ends meet and raised him to do the same. But eventually, as things do in this galaxy, they perished before their time, leaving Gnat alone to fend for himself. Now all he has left of them are his memories & their teachings. And his mom's Bo-Rifle, but it's broken and he's not skilled enough to fix it.

He began to work as a mercenary pilot on his own, that being his primary talent & position when his parents were around. Ships don't move without a pilot and he is fairly good at it. But people were always underestimating him because of his age and rarely gave him a shot. When they did and something went wrong, obviously it was his fault.

Things went on like this for a few years until he ran into a Twi'lek who could sell you a crate of air and you'd be happy about it. A job for the hutts goes wrong because of the empire and only the 2 of them survive. In order to get paid and find sanctuary, the pair go to the hutts. With the completed job and some silver tongue from the Twi'lek, they are given some temporary safe haven in exchange for an [[Ominous Favor]].

Gnat wants to be the best fighter pilot in the galaxy and aims to prove himself as such.
