Like many young Wookies, Shorryn was wandering from spaceport to spaceport, cracking skulls for small-time wannabe gangs. This brought him no joy, but it's what he felt he needed to do to survive.

Until one day.

He was approached by a kindly old Ithorian, of all people. Her name was Teela Jaarn, and she offered Shorryn a choice. To fight back against the Empire, to fight to free his people.

To fight for the Rebellion.

He accepted, and was surprised to learn that she was a particularly vicious guerrilla fighter. His training went well, and he felt like he was going to make a difference.

Until the day his mentor was slain. He caught sight of the assassin, a female Twi'Lek who fled before he could catch her. His Rebellion contact told him to let it go, and Shorryn replied with some particularly unflattering things about the man's mother.

Angry and filled with grief, Shorryn slipped back into his bruiser role, hoping to track down the assassin on his own. Eventually, he fell in with the party, and assumed the role of heavy/doting big brother.
