1: Lekal always was aware of his uncanny intuition, but it wasn’t until he researched the Jedi that he put two and two together. But his suspicions weren’t confirmed until he had the privilege of meeting a Jedi himself.
2: A few years after the rise of the Empire, while passing through a smaller settlement in the outer rim, Lekal witnessed local stormtroopers execute order 37 in an attempt to capture a Jedi they believed to be hiding there. Ultimately there was no Jedi, and very few locals survived.
3: Lekal joined the New Jedi Order in the hopes that the galaxy might never again become the place it was under the Empire. He made his way to them the same way he’s always gotten around, hopping from transport to transport.
4: There are only two people that Lekal has any meaningful connection to, A Wookiee scholar named Lembo, and Durro the Hutt. Lembo and Lekal are in communication at least once a week. At 176 she’s only a few years older than he is. Durro, unlike most Hutts, deals exclusively in collectibles and antiques. Although the items might be of questionable legality, Durro has a distaste for violence as it’s bad for business.
5: Lekal has always tried to steer clear of anyone important, content to give advice and rather than take an active role. Despite this, he’s made a commitment to use his casual knowledge in medicine to help whoever he can regardless of who might object. The number of times this has happened are numerous thanks to his own foresight, although the bounty hunter who threatened him with a disruptor was a highlight.
