Background
Bobby grew up in the Outer Rim on a Dust Bowl planet. His family, consisting of his parents and younger sister, were the only companions he had, and they lived a simple, hardworking life. Bobby's father ran the local auto repair shop, a dusty and run-down garage where the townsfolk brought their beaten-up Harvesters, Droids, and wagons for repairs.
As a child, Bobby displayed an innate aptitude for machinery and gadgets. He spent countless hours watching his father work on engines, poring over Datapads, and tinkering with broken devices that the town's folks had discarded. The hum of engines, the smell of oil, and the rhythmic clinking of tools and whirring of machines became the soundtrack of his formative years. Bobby's father, recognizing his son's talent, began teaching him the tricks of the trade, passing down his knowledge, and nurturing Bobby's burgeoning passion for mechanics.
Tragedy struck when a group of raiding outlaws swept through the town, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. While Bobby and his parents managed to escape with their lives, they lost everything, including his little sister. It was this heart-wrenching experience that began Bobby's obsessive attachment to his machines, his creations providing him with a sense of stability and control that was otherwise missing from his life.
In his early adulthood, Bobby found work as a freelance mechanic hopping from planet to planet, he utilized his skills to patch up various docked ships and high-end vehicles. Eventually, a group of smugglers with ties to the Hutts brought in a YT-1000 that had suffered severe damage during a high-speed chase with law enforcement. The smugglers were impressed by Bobby's ability to repair the ship quickly and discreetly, and they saw potential in him beyond just fixing starships. They made Bobby an offer: become their on-board repair tech and hacker, and in return, they promised a handsome paycheck, and freedom to augment their ship with whatever he liked.
Bobby agreed to the work, becoming a crucial asset to their operations. He honed his splicing skills, providing the group with the means to bypass security systems and gain access to restricted areas. At the same time, he continued to tinker with gadgets and machines, creating ingenious contraptions that aided the smugglers in their illicit endeavours. He also began to grow incredibly attached to the ship and became quite formidable with a blaster should anyone threaten to damage her.
As he became more deeply entrenched in their world, Bobby's skills and resourcefulness would be put to the test in ways he never could have imagined. His connection to machines and mechanics has taken on a new, more dangerous significance in the world of crime and intrigue.
