When Zel was rejected from nearly every Imperial Flight Academy his parents' moderate wealth could buy, the Duros knew that the regime was stacked against him. The skilled shuttle pilot amateurishly dreamed of dogfights over planets far from his own planet of Daalang. Of course, the pilot's rejections from the Imperial Academy managed to peak the interest of a Rebel Alliance recruiter. Zel was put through the "crash course" in learning how to pilot one of the Alliance's Y-Wings, and has proven himself capable enough to not die on his two combat missions prior to this. In fact, Zel's quick maneuvers and taking charge of a strike team of three ships when the squadron leader died earned Zel a battlefield promotion to the rank of Lieutenant.

Species Rights: Zel wants to see the day where non-humans such as himself can gain any rank, job, or social status by their own merits without being chained by the Empire's xenophobia.
