Background
Unlike many Twi'leks at large in the galaxy, Ilko Taro was never a slave. Born to a prestigious family on Ryloth, he was safe from the slave-takers. He lived a sheltered, privileged life until a visiting Jedi ambassador sensed that he could be something more than a pampered child.
After verifying that Ilko was indeed strong in the Force, the Jedi took him to the temple. As he trained with the Jedi he also learned of the others around the galaxy living hard lives and yearning for protection. He took it as his duty to use his abilities to guard them and better their lives.
