Background

1) How did you discover your force sensitivity?
The Echani have always settled many conversations with fists rather than words, we learn to communicate by fighting. I found myself able to read the thoughts and emotions of my partners to a great extent, I could connect and understand them better than others, not due to the training or skill of others but it was something else. As time progressed this grew to aid those around me, my inner peace would spread to my comrades, we would be as one.

2) Describe a moment where you fell prey to your moral weakness or experienced a tragedy/horror that still haunts you.
I had a vision the day I signed up to join the Republic military, candles being extuinguished by the rising tide, one by one before darkness fell. It filled me with Dread but I still felt I had to join this war. My partner Kaiya Rato felt the torment within me as we sparred, she urged me to trust my feelings and reconsider, but my mind was made up. I regret that choice, it hurt her and the events of the Battle for Mon Cal will haunt me for the rest of my life.

3) How did you come to join the NJO?
During the evacuation of Mon Cal I bumped into this Mirialan, she said she was a Jedi and that she felt the force in me, I'd heard of it before and after that battle it just sorta made sense. After the war ended I left the military and had nowhere else to go, so I checked them out, liked what I saw and I stayed.

4) Name one NPC your character has a strong connection with. This could be a family member, a friend, a work contact, or a bitter rival.
Kaiya Rato, my (former? it's complicated) partner, we had our disagreements and I've made mistakes, but despite this we share a strong bond. My duties as a Soldier and now a Jedi have caused a bit of a rift between us.

5) Describe a moment in your life where you demonstrated your moral strength despite adversity.
My final deployment was to Mon Cal, part of the ground forces to disable orbital, it felt like a hopeless effort, the sky was aglow with turbolasers and ships being destroyed, I could feel a great pain in the force, this conflict was too much, fear and despair was everywhere. But we had our mission, we disabled a few of the defences, the losses were great, our commanding officer had been killed and my squad was injured and tired. I knew it was my duty to push on to the next but it would be the death of many more, instead I rounded up the survivors and the civilians we could and began a retreat. The mission failed, I disobeyed orders but we saved all we could.

Compassion: Virak is quite empathetic and finds it easy to understand them, this leads to a natural desire to help those around him.

Typically serene and calm, but jumpy around droids

From a minor noble family that has had long ties in the military, as the second child, and a male at that he wasn't the first choice to continue the legacy, and as somewhat of a pacifist he decided to make his own way in life. He worked in a small dojo (like a therapy dojo?) where he met Kaiya.

When the droid conflict erupted he joined the Republic military, though his connections through his family and the knowledge of his skills allowed him to join as a commisioned officer, but he chose to lead a squad in the field instead.
