Background
As he stepped into the crowded bar, Udo took a moment to adjust his overcoat, flipping the collar up around his neck. The Cerean kept his head down and moved toward the back to an empty booth. He was alone, but that didn’t matter. Udo slid into the booth settled in, taking a moment to lean back as the young waitress came and took his order.
“Sullustan gin.”
--Fifteen Years Prior—
“Do you understand the reason for your punishment?” Master Mundi asked as he walked down the long, open passage ways of the Jedi Temple.
Udo’s face was passive, but he gave a resigned sigh of acquiescence, “It still seems foolish to me. I understand the tradition of it, but honestly, a blaster really is a better tool to use when subduing a potential threat. To not carry one, even as a precaution, seems like a waste.”
Udo knew what he’d done would get him in trouble. He’d spent enough time researching the form and decorum in the library. But he had a point to prove. The Masters and Knights favored lightsabers over other means of protection, and Udo wanted to prove that – especially for young padawans – that was a recipe for disaster. So he did the logical thing. He went out, bought a simple blaster, and during combat training he shot his opponent – another trainee named Kallish - in the chest. The plan went perfectly. It was the Masters that were deviating from the plan.
“Honestly, I don’t understand why I am being kicked out. I proved a point. And it was on stun anyways. Its not like there were any long term damages. Kallish was even able to testify in that disciplinary hearing. If anything I taught him a valuable lesson not to underestimate his opponent.”
Mundi had stopped. They were close to the doorway now. It had been determined that since Udo had not only violated rules of conduct for padawans, as well as harmed another during training, along with a litany of other charges that Udo believed were being added to justify the punishment, he was to be removed from the Jedi Order. Mundi had even agreed to this punishment, which surprised the young Cerean most of all, as he would have assumed Mundi would agree with his logic and defended him.
“One day I hope you will learn that the simplest plans are not always the most noble. Or the most sound. For now, may the Force guide you.”
--Present Day--
Udo leaned back into the booth. Shifting the goggles on his head down over his eyes. As he did, the world around him blacked out, the goggles tinted to reflect light and leave Udo in darkness. Focusing for a moment, soon the loud sounds of the bar started to quiet around him. To the outside world, the Cerean seemed to sit quietly waiting, still moving, slowing sipping his drink. Inside, Udo focused on the plan. It was a good plan. It was his plan. His plans were always perfect.
“May the Force guide me, indeed…” he muttered, taking another sip.
Motivation
Morality
Strength: Caution - Udo understands that those caught in a conflict are the most vulnerable. Being reckless only serves those in power, who have the time and resources to develop counter-plans. Udo tries to consider every alternative, and is careful before he acts on anything. A wasted step is unforgivable. Perfect execution of a plan is never possible, but Udo is constantly searching for a way to develop the best plan possible.
Weakness: Arrogance - By making oneself the pinnacle of achievement, all others fall short. Soon, no one is worthy of Udo's time or consideration. Udo prides himself on knowing the correct course of action, and when others don't listen, he tends to mock or scold them. When his plans go awry it isn't his fault, it is become someone else must have not stuck to his plan.
