Background
Castar grew up a scavenger on a junk world. He found he had a gift with both repairing gear and ships, as well as piloting those ships. When an Imperial detachment got briefly separated from the main fleet, Castar's ingenuity and ability caught the eye of the stranded strike team, who sponsored him into the Imperial Marines. (not sure if this was technically a thing, but Army + Navy = Marines) Happy to revise.
Motivation
Order: Castar grew up on a lawless world, and appreciates the stability that the Empire offers, at the macroscopic if not the personal level.
