Grew up in one of the Iridonian colonies, when his colony was attacked by the separatist he lost his family but he used the broken droids to create his remote 'Jax' and with it and some other fixed up droids rebuilt his colony with the few survivors left, one day a jedi star ship and a laat landed outside his encampment, cautious, Thormal activates the defenses and says over a loud intercom "leave now and you will leave with your lives." Thormal squints at the group of people and sees what seems to be two armored figures unloading boxes from a laat, and then he looks at the young man walking twords the gate, Thormal sees the man kneel down and lay his weapon softly on the ground and then proceed to walk calmly to the front gate, Thormal yells "Im warning you, leave while you still can!" then Thormal looks throught the gate cam and the young jedi is looking right into the camera smiling, then he waves and says "Hi, Im jedi knight Monlet, But you can call me Mon! Any way i brought some supplies to help, my men will set it by the front gate, you dont have to open the gate but please know, you can call on me for help any time." he stood there for a minute and then left. Thormal was astonished 'that was the nicest thing anyone has done for us poor souls' he thought, come a week later another ship came, a new ship, looks like a transport but Thormal has never seen it before, out of it came some armored troopers they look like the kind who brought them the supplies a week ago, Thormal lowered the defenses for his new allys but when he opened the gate he was at gunpoint, they ransacked the place, and killed everyone but Thormal. Thormal was knocked out under some rubble when he was saved by a man with a smile on his face, Thormal woke up in a rebel cell's recovery bed with his savior no where to be found. Thormal has been aiding the rebellion since.
