Born 38 BBY on Onderon, Cal Salucor was tested, like all children in the republic, for midichlorians. When his test was positive, his family received a visit from the Jedi Recruiters. Master Bolla Ropal arrived at his family’s estate on Onderon and laid some toys in front if the Cal. He immediately began spinning the ball in the air. Master Ropal told his parents that he would need to attend the Jedi Temple and train to become a Jedi. It was decided that Cal would stay with his parents for 2 years, then he would be sent to the Temple for training.

In 36 BBY, Master Ropal arrived again at the Salucor estate. Master Ropal escorted young Cal to the Jedi Temple, where Cal was housed with the rest of Bear Clan. Over the next 10 years, Cal learned from many Jedi Masters, everything from the ways of the Force, to Lightsaber combat. While at the academy, Cal found he was very adept with machinery, often able to sense though the Force tiny imperfections in items and can repair them. He found a break away from his studies, in the hangar, working on the starfighters and shuttles soothing.

Jedi Master Cin Drallig was extremely interested in Cal’s abilities with a lightsaber. Cal mastered the basics of Form 1, Shi-Cho, faster than any in his Clan. He chose then to study Form 3, Soresu, and became very adapt at this form, using it to great success in the youngling tournament. In 26 BBY, Jedi Master Cin Drallig took Cal as his padawan. Throughout their travels, Cal learn a lot about being a Jedi, but Master Drallig was focused on Cal’s Martial Skills, rather than his talents with machinery and armor. That is until a mission to Stygeon Prime, in 23 BBY. During the mission, Master Drallig’s lightsaber became damaged in a firefight, and he did not notice the damage. Cal’s attunement with machinery recognized the damage and urged his master to allow him to examine his lightsaber more carefully. Upon Cal’s inspection, a blaster bolt had damaged the power cell. If his master had activated his lightsaber, the lightsaber would have exploded. This mission resulted in Master Drallig’s promotion to Jedi Battlemaster, and head of the security for the Jedi Temple.

Returning to the Jedi Temple, Cal found most of his time was spent in the library, Training Rooms, or the Hangar. Cal spent hours pouring over mechanical texts in the Jedi Library, hoping to learn all he can. He would then go to the hangar and work for hours on a piece of starship technology. He worked on a Delta-7 Starfighter for months, until it was perfect. Then the Clone Wars broke out.

Neither Cal, nor Master Drallig were present for the Battle of Geonosis. Master Drallig, responsible for Temple Security, remained at the Temple. While Master Drallig was busy with Temple Security and the Temple Guards, Cal began to switch his focus from his technical abilities, and more towards his lightsaber combat skills. Working to hone Form 3 by training against anyone who was still at the temple, Cal became skilled enough to even defeat his Master in one on one combat. Unfortunately, his time for training at the temple was coming quickly to an end.

Master Drallig and the Jedi Council summoned Cal to the Jedi Council Chambers. There has been an Emergency on the Front Lines. A Jedi turned to the Dark Side and fled from her Clones, another missing in action, and a Padawan left to fend for themselves. Another Padawan's Master was killed and that padawan was being reassigned to Coruscant, to Master Drallig. Cal was being sent to the Eriadu System and the 77th Clone Legion, under the tutelage of Master Lusk Muran. The fighting has not been going well, and the hope is that Cal and his new master will be able to turn the tide of the battle.

Oath: The Jedi

Cal takes his oath to the Jedi and the Republic to the core. He is dedicated to serving the Republic, whatever the cost, however, he will not go against the Jedi Code, his first oath. His dedication to the Code is the only thing that runs deeper his oath to the Republic.

Emotional Strength: Dedication
Cal is Dedicated, first to the Jedi, who are the only family he has ever truly known. Second to the Republic, whose ideals fall inline with the values Cal holds most dear, freedom, honor, and Justice. Third to the Troopers with whom he serves, his men are his priority on the battlefield, and he will do anything to protect them and the citizens he serves from harm.

Emotional Weakness: Obsession
Unfortunately, this leaves Cal prone to getting tunnel vision, obsessing over protecting civilians and his troops can cause Cal to rush in without thinking, or focus only on protecting others when the goal is a combat objective that would necessitate a loss of life.
