Background
Daax is a young Jedi Knight just beginning to feel confident in his abilities. He was recruited and trained as a young child, but rarely spent extended periods beyond the reach of his Temple. As a Padawan he trained under Master Ruch, a large wookie warrior known for his wisdom and ferocity. Life at the temple was consistent, and Daax spent much of his time there building relationships with the local populous. Battle was not something Daax often had to think about at home. However, Daax had a rapid introduction to combat when his temple was attacked by what assumed to be marauders. The temple was bombarded from orbit. It was not something they had forseen, and because of it many young Jedi were lost. Daax himself was incapacitated during the battle. Master Ruch and another young Knight pursued the attackers as they fled, but did not return. It was later assumed they were KIA, however, Daax never agreed with such claims, although never openly... something just felt wrong about it. What left Daax most unsettled, is that, for some unknown reason, the attackers stole a holocron from the temple.
This defining moment set Daax into motion, and ever since that day he has been traveling the galaxy, going anywhere the Jedi were needed.
His goal: to see the galaxy at peace.
Motivation
Now that Daax is a Knight, he wishes to continue his journey of growth and learning. His hope is that with further strength and will he will be better able to protect others, and drive away the Sith and their ilk. He fears that he will not fulfill his potential, and the consequences that would arise from such failure.
Morality
Compassion and Hatred.
Daax's master saw great amounts of compassion in him and nurtured those aspects. Daax has an innate ability to connect with others through the force, to understand their emotions and thoughts.
Master Ruch showed Daax why the Jedi must keep peace in the galaxy, and who the Jedi aim to protect by doing so. Daax will always go out of his way to protect innocents. However, the strength of his compassion can also be a path to a deep hatred. A hatred for the Sith, and those who intentionally seek out and harm the defenseless.

Description
Daax's is of a bulky build, and has deep blue skin. He presents as youthful, and generally unremarkable. His most obvious defining feature is his missing head-tail, something he lost in the attack on his Temple.
