Dretz was born on the Outer Rim planet of city planet Jutrand in 4 BBY. Jutrand is well know for being the home base of several major corporations, and sided with the CIS during the Clone Wars. During this time the corporations of the planet spoke of the tyranny of the republic, and how it was strangling the freedoms of the people through regulation

After the Clone Wars, these corporate heads almost immediately swore loyalty to the Empire. This was seen as a betrayal by a large portion of the planet who tried to revolt in 15 BBY. This included Dretz's grandmother. The corporations, however, worked with the Empire and quickly crushed the Rebels.

After the rebellion, the Empire ruled with an iron fist over the planet, but gave much leeway to the corporate heads who had sided with them. Exploitation and corruption were rife in the upper echelons of society, while the people were punished. This became especially true as the Rebellion took hold, as the Empire was simultaneously fearful of another revolt on the planet and rewarding the corporate heads in return for not siding with the Alliance. As he grew up, he wanted to end the injustice.

However, after the Battle of Endor, an Imperial loyalist group took control of the planet directly. This faction defied the Concordance and enslaved the planet's population into making it a fortress world. The New Republic invaded the planet in 7ABY and bombed a large number of what they believed were military installations (but were actually semi-converted civilian buildings with people still living there).

This resulted in the death of several of Dretz's friends and his uncle. The New Republic tried to assist in rebuilding the planet but they were incompetent, and much of the money was embezzled buy corrupt officials, reconstruction took too long and the civilians saw little recompense.

As such, he has no desire to join the New Republic. However, he still maintained a desire to help those in need. He also learned from the Republic's mistake and has a desire to actually scout ahead and investigate what the situation is before going ahead. As such, he trained to become a licenced investigator, someone who usually operated within the law of the new Republic, but also acted independent of it to root out corruption. He made a name for himself and was recruited by a Ishi Tib agent of the Imperials by the name of Jolak Tar

Dretz seeks to expose corrupt officials, corporations and criminal organisations which are harming local communities. He turns a blind eye to what he sees as harmless illegal activities, but will not tolerate anything he sees as leaching from innocent people or putting them in danger.

Bounty:
Around two years ago, Dretz completed an investigation into a criminal gang operating the Kuat drive yards. He managed to uncover and stop a weapons smuggling operation run by one of the cells (or "claws") of the Acklay Syndicate, resulting in over two dozen arrests. The Syndicate are not happy about this and want Dretz dead. This is part of the reason why he has gone out to the edge of known space, in order to lay low and just help with small crimes on a space station city. However, he now feels the urge to go out and help on a lightly bigger scale.

Dretz is a solidly built Nautolan who has skill at arrange and up close and personal. He prefers to dress in reasonably smart , but practical clothing, including his hat and trench coat. However, he also wears thick padding beneath his clothes.
