Background
Wilde was raised in an agricultural sector on Corellia. He and his family lived a very modest life, with not much want. Things were peaceful, but to Wilde his life was extremely boring. The only enjoyment he got out of his chores was piloting his families air speeder to check on their crop plots. This enjoyment started to evolve, and as he grew older he started to sneak his family's speeder out for joyrides and night races with the mass of bored Corellian youth.
When Wilde became of age, he happily went to join the Imperial Academy in the hopes of becoming an ace pilot. His older brother had already spent some time in service with the Imperial Navy, and as such his head was already full of ideas of glory and grandeur. He saw the Empire as something to keep pirates and other sources of scum and villainy in check, and even more so, he saw it as his opportunity to really prove himself and earn his merit as a pilot.
During his training Wilde had earned himself a reputation of being a reckless pilot. He had troubles staying in formations during simulations and training, instead following his own 'intuition' to try and succeed in his training. As such, not only did this attitude get him the most scored kills in his training class, but he also lead the class in crashes as well. This attitude made him very little friends in the highly competitive nature of the academy, both in his classmates and in the staff. Many say if it wasn't for the possibility of some enemy of the Empire seeing Wilde's raw talents the Academy would have flunked him out due to his attitude.
Motivation
Faith - Imperial Rule
Whenever Wilde's brother would come home on leave he would be sure to tell Wilde about all the grand adventures he had been on in the Imperial Navy. These adventures sounded far more grandiose than anything their father had ever told them about the Corellian Defense Force. Stories about adventuring, chasing down pirates and criminals to keep law and keep the citizens of the Galactic Empire safe drew Wilde in. Over his training this idea became even more ingrained, and despite his unruly behavior he truly feels that the Empire is the key to keeping structure in the Galaxy.
Obligations
Antagonist: 20
During his time in the Academy Wilde was an arrogant kid and a showboat. He wasn't in the academy to make friends, he wanted to fly. As such he constantly rubbed the training Officers and the other pilots the wrong way. This seemed to be manageable until a certain confrontation happened.
During a live training session, Cadets Wilde and Dorn collided and both suffered injuries. This incident occurred near the two Cadets graduation, so the training staff were split into two groups. One group wanted to blame Wilde for the entire incident, the other group believed that both Cadets were out of formation and at fault. The former group wished to expel Wilde, while the later thought it would be better to let the two Cadets graduate and let what happens to the two Cadets happen. Eventually the two groups argued themselves to the Graduation deadline, left with no option other to graduate both Cadet Garren Wilde and Cadet Adrian Dorn. This incident left both Officers wanting Wilde out of the Empire and Cadet Dorn fuming, swearing that they would make Wilde's life as difficult as possible.
