Background
THE OUTSIDER
A character from this background came from a society outside of the galactic norm. This includes isolated planetary systems not yet marked on the maps, prison colonies, or even the rare case of a character growing up in solitude out in the wilderness. The character is probably ill-informed about or completely unaware of the politics, customs, and even technology of the rest of the galaxy. He may be superstitious of the strange sights around him or embrace the wonders that he encounters.
This choice works better for some careers than others - a Mechanic from a primitive world stretches credulity, for example - unless the player and GM come up with a good reason for this to happen. Maybe the Mechanic character was the sole survivor of a downed ship on a backwater planet and learned his skills from tinkering with the ship's equipment.
Of course, the player must come up with a good reason regarding how the character managed to leave his isolated or primitive upbringing. Perhaps his character was brought back to civilization by an explorer or slipped on board a trade vessel that landed on his planet.
DUTY TO TRADITION
Even at the height of the Empire's power, the Force still plays a major cultural role on some worlds. In less sophisticated cultures. Force-sensitives may occupy leadership roles as shamans or spiritual advisors. Individuals could be inducted into an order during their early childhood. so that they could engage in a rigorous course of study. Such trainees are seldom given any other option but to embrace their education. The ability to manipulate the Force provides them with a moral obligation to use it for the betterment of their culture and the greater galaxy beyond it. The character may be selfless in making decisions to help others and may face the consequences which come from intuitive self-sacrifice.
DESIRE FOR UNDERSTANDING
Having realized he has some untapped power at his disposal, the character now wishes to know what this power is. Simple research on his home planet or via the HoloNet has yielded nothing, so he must set out into the wider galaxy to see what he can learn about his odd abilities..
Motivation
DESTROY THE SITH
Through ancient texts or diligent research, the character has learned of the Jedi's ancient enemies: the Sith. He has set out to defeat and destroy their order, or at the very least, do what he can to hinder them.
JUSTICE
In a galaxy full of wrongdoing, justice must be done. The character seeks to bring justice to those who deserve it, while helping victims of injustice to right the wrongs done to them.
Morality

DISCIPLINE (STRENGTH)
Rigorous mental and physical discipline comes naturally to the character. He does not make choices rashly, and every action is precise and selected. Those who think they can goad the character into making foolish choices are sorely mistaken.

OBSTINANCE (WEAKNESS)
Disciplined characters may fall into the trap of simple stubbornness if they are not careful. An obstinate character often refuses to consider any course of action other than the one he chooses, unwilling to accept that someone else may have conceived of a better option.
