Background
Pee Nine was once a standard Imperial RA-7 Protocol Droid assigned as an Analyst at various Imperial Navy facilities and vessels - which is to say that like all RA-7s, he was a terrible Protocol droid with an off putting personality who was instead assigned to analyst tasks and computer staff work, while also occasionally being utilized by the ISB to spy on their own people. His last assignment was to an Imperial Customs Inspection vessel, up until they boarded and seized an illegal and unregistered HWK-1000 called "The Kessel Queen". The smuggler vessel's captain, one Tarabon Mec, escaped in her vessel while AP-9 was aboard in the process of downloading the navigational history of the seized vessel. Bonnie, with the help of a droid tech contact of hers, freed Pee Nine of his restraining bolt and "loosened the restrictions" on his core programming - unlocking his firewalled ISB directives and merging his split personalities into one cohesive sense of self, while also allowing him to grow that consciousness as a liberated individual.
