Background
Daggoth was born on Tatooine as a member of the Kekit clan. Like many of his kind he learned at a young age to repair whatever bits of technology his clan could scavenge from the Dune Sea in their massive sandcrawler. It was a hard life, there was the constant threat of sand people attacks, Dagg had seen many of his clan die to their slugthrowers and gaffi sticks and though generally passive they would defend themselves when needed. Almost as deadly as the sand people was the constant lack of water which necessitated a close relationship with moisture farmers in the areas they traveled. Dagg liked to observe the bartering the older members of his clan took part in, he would sometimes feel bad about some of the deals they made when they embellished the qualities of their wares but if it meant they would have the water or credits they needed to go on he could live with it. Unfortunately as time went on there seemed to be less and less salvage around, most areas had simply already been searched and soon the clan had to decide on what to do, should they move towards larger settlements like Mos Eisly, Mos Espa or Anchorhead? It seemed likely those areas would have already been scavenged by other Jawas or city merchants looking for a quick credit. No, another solution was decided on. The clan would leave Tatooine altogether.
The clan elders selected several young jawas, ones without essential duties, the expendable ones, and gathered them together. Dagg was among them. They would be sent out to other systems in search of planets, one of which would become their new home. There was a general list of planet qualities they were hoping for, a more hospitable climate, more common water sources, less hostile creature or native populations and obviously a planet rich in salvage (we are jawas, after all). It would also be important for the off-world jawas to make reliable contacts to help with the "big move" and give the clan a chance to get back on their feet once they arrive.
The first step would be to get at least a basic grasp of Galactic Basic, thankfully they had an old protocol droid to help with that and though it took a while the lessons began to stick, before long the soon-to-be exoplanet scouts were conversing totally in basic. Step two would be gathering as much equipment as possible to give them the best chances to complete their mission, a weapon and some protection would certainly be needed. The third step was to take out some hefty loans to book passage with various ships heading to different systems, if the mission failed they would likely all end up as slaves until their debt was repaid. The clan's future was almost entirely riding on their small group of pathfinders who were about to be thrown into the unknown.
