Background

I left the primary hive in the Roche System and went to live at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant as a larva. Verpine have no concept of a nuclear family, and my larval experiences never really formed into real memories this far from the colony, so the Jedi have always been my true family.

As a Pupa, I was appointed to train under Jedi Master Beyghor Sahdett, the only other verpine at the temple at the time, and a masculine who had already become my friend and mentor; a natural consequence of our effortless radio wave communication.

I visited the colony in Roche frequently with Master Sahdett. He felt it was of vital importance I understand the verpine culture, to learn from the master technicians and engineers, and to be immersed peaceful communal existence and decision making... to see how all beings are part and parcel of the force.

My master and I were Seekers, Jedi who traveled to the outer reaches of the galaxy searching for knowledge and undiscovered allies of the Force, like the Verpine. When the Clone wars broke out, we were primarily stationed in large bases supervising crews of technicians, armorers and shipwrights due to our innate mechanical abilities, and proficiency with the manipulating the physical side of the Force. My master taught me the intricacies of lightsaber crafting and modification, and I spent much of my time on base repairing and improving damaged lightsabers for the Jedi generals and commanders in the field.

When Order 66 was issued, I was quickly warned by one of the contracted mechanics on base before the clones posted to our hanger could find me, and I attempted to sneak my way out of the base. Passing by the medcenter, I ran into Jedi Master Bultar Swan who had somehow managed to escape the clone troopers as well, and we escaped on a stolen transport together. We flew to Eriadu, the primary world in the Sesswenna Sector and one of the Outer Runs most active trading hubs. We hoped to rendezvous with any other Jedi who had managed to survive the purge, but our first goal was to lay low and evade capture by the empire.

For months, we passed as armor techs and shipwrights for bounty hunters and freighter captains. Under the cover of night, we trained feverishly in the Attaru lightsaber technique. Master Sahdett had instructed me in the basics of Form IV, but Master Swan was considered by many to be one of the preeminent practitioners, and had even created her own variant designed around defense and counter-attack.

One day, Master Swan said she had been contacted by Master Shadday Potkin, and she and Master Tsui Choi were going to Kessel to meet with a small gathering of surviving Jedi to discuss a plan to counteract the Sith. I was to remain on Eriadu, and she would return in a week... She never came back. I waited for her until I heard rumors that Darth Vader himself had wiped out the last of the Jedi, holed up in a shack on Kessel, that I gave up hope, packed my tools, and booked passage from spaceport to spaceport, fixing up freighters for a lift to the next system.
