Background
Much of the background of Hahndaar is purposefully left unspecified, as to allow use in any era, but the creative assumption is that he is a Padawan that just passed or is about to pass his trials to become a Jedi Knight, potentially to take a Padawan of his own, which goes against the assumptions of the base game, which assumes the Civil War/Rebellion era. This is not necessarily of major relevance, as he could easily be a force-sensitive that has been more recently trained.
Hahndaar is one of few wookiees born outside of Kashyyyk, having been born into servitude on a Muun-owned banking plantation. After approximately twenty years, in early childhood, he was eventually freed in a raid against the plantation - sadly, his parents did not make.
Being an albino, he drew the attention of his captors, whether jedi or soldiers, and was either recognized as a force-sensitive and taken to the Jedi Temple, or to a refugee colony where his force sensitivity manifested many years later.
Motivation
• Cause - Freedom:
Hahndaar believes that all sentient beings must have the opportunity to make their own decisions, for good or for ill, and the right to face the consequences or receive the just rewards for their actions. He relentlessly pursues freedom for the enslaved and oppressed, and fights against organizations that promote slavery or subjugate their people whenever and wherever he can. Hahndaar realizes and recognizes that this may not always be realistic, but seeks to free those he can when he can.
• Pursuit - Deadliness:
Hahndaar does not seek death, but while killing is not his goal, it ultimately can not always be avoided and so must be honed to an art. Never missing an opportunity to practice swordplay and aim or train his physical abilities, Hahndaar views each combat as a test of personal lethality - even when seeking to incapacitate or subjugate opponents without taking their lives.
Morality
• Emotional Strength - Compassion:
Hahndaar is never blind to the needs of others and cares about the tribulations others face, taking the time to engage with the troubles of any stranger (and there are so many) he comes across, actively volunteering his help whenever the opportunity arises, which can range from offering a willing ear to providing clothing and other support. Hahndaar's compassion may lead to self-sacrifice in order to aid those who need it, as alleviating suffering is paramount to him; all beings belong with the force and all deserve to know its peace.
• Emotional Strength - Bravery:
Hahndaar's bravery is quite remarkable, as he either defies fear or respects it, using it as a guide. Fear means opportunity for action, and bravery comes from taking the risks that others will not. When action is needed, there is no hesitation despite the dangers, whether facing down a charging rancor, racing into a burning building to save innocents, or navigating a ship through hazardous routes; Hahndaar places the well-being of others as his utmost priority, facing incredible odds without a second thought and never backs down from a challenge. He may face the possibility of death and deafeat, but fights on regardles, and shows no fear.
• Emotional Weakness - Hatred:
The galaxy can be a cruel and heartless place, and compassion can quickly turn to hatred of the individuals or situations that cause others to suffer. Seeing so much suffering can cause Hahndaar to arbitrarily differentiate between the good people who deserve help and the bad people who deserve hate. Having clearly identified the bad, Hahndaar can now more easily blame them for the suffering. It is easy to think that those who have no capacity for compassion deserve none, and Hahndaar is quick to mercilessly dispatch beings who breed suffering not considering whether such beings can be saved themselves; he gives little quarter to those who inflict suffering on others, and quickly adopts the bitterness of the tormented souls he helps, even to the point of clouding his vision as to the true severity of the offense. When a person's mind roils with simmering hatred, that hatred may be all too slow to fade.
• Emotional Weakness - Obsession:
Hahndaar has a tendency to focus on one thing to the exclusion of all else, and sometimes become oblivious to the bigger picture in his pursuits and desire to quench ills and evil. He dedicates himself to a task fully, and those tasks he does not do fully he may not do at all. In this compassion and desire to help, his bravery can lead to obsessions to the exclusion of all else, and these desires drive Hahndaar's existence, even as he attempts to temper it with reason. Although not reckless in the spur of the moment, in his fixations, Hahndaar can end up having no regard for personal safety and neglect the safety of others.
Description
A young and well-groomed man by wookiee standards, Hahndaar is ~220 centimeters (7'2''-7'3'') and ~120 kilograms (265lbs) of white fur, wide shoulders, and muscles.
As an albino, his fur has an almost translucent quality to it, and his deep-set dark eyes glint and flicker like rubies lit by an inner fire, coming together to give him an ethereal and gossamer quality that clashes with his towering stature. Taken together with his somewhat cold and sometimes inherently threatening demeanor, most recognize him as someone not to be trifled with. While something Hahndaar often takes advantage of, it is nevertheless in opposition to his warm and caring inner life.
He cares little for exterior adornments or ostentatious façades, and usually favors his spartan aspect of simple open robes and the various tools and satchels and pieces of equipment that he carries with him, although he nevertheless makes a point out of propriety, and would never neglect to keep himself presentable, especially for ceremonial duties and events.
