Background
A Higher Calling/Tech Designer:
Trek was a servant to the Hutts, as with most Red Nikto, and grew up being told that this service was all that he would know. Secretly, he chafed under Hutt rulership, though he didn't know why until he overheard slaves telling each other stories. Stories about their invisible chains, about their Depur, the gods that strove to free them through both clever trickery and harsh sandstorms. These tales that were not his to hear resonated, and he found himself coming back, listening and memorising.
When it came time for the storytelling slave to be sold to another master, he was able to volunteer himself to deliver them, and took the chance to spirit both them and himself away. It was terrifying, defying all he had been taught, and yet so freeing at the same time. The weight of his own invisible chains left his shoulders, and Trek swore himself to the freedom trail, knowing his work had just begun.
The slave chips used to force those bought and sold in Hutt Space are a most ingenious and cruel technological creation. But like most if not all technology, they can be analysed and carefully taken apart to study how they work, and new devices could be made to scramble detonation signals and even permanently prevent them from exploding. The faster this can be done, the faster more slaves can be freed. And so Trek does everything he can to make better scanners, better signal jammers, better anything to see it done.
Motivation
Freedom:
Trek desires the freedom to do what he wants, and to see others freed from the shackles of bondage and servitude in all its forms.
The Weak / Charity:
Trek fights for the underdog, disliking bullies and totalitarianism. He'll put the interests of those in need before his own and may donate time or money to aid the less fortunate.
Obligations
Betrayal:
Trek betrayed the Hutts he served loyally in order to begin his work as nar-depur freeing the slaves. Considering that slavery is a major part of the Hutts' financial prospects, they have a vested interest in stopping him, more than likely by any means necessary.
Oath:
Trek made a vow to himself to give everything he has to freeing as many slaves as he can, even if that means putting himself in danger. The feeling of freedom from Depur is something he dedicates himself to sharing with as many others as possible, meaning any time he finds someone enslaved he will do his best to set them free, even if they don't realise they are a slave.
