Background
Lina, while born on Zeltros, spent most of her life on space stations throughout the Inner Rim and the Expansion Region. Lina was of the generation that grew up under the shadow of the newly formed Galactic Empire. Early in life, she began to notice how her family and her species were viewed as commodities. It only worsened when she came into her teenage years. By that time, she was well aware of how other beings, especially the humans who kept the Imperial machine running, viewed Zeltrons. And while Lina had no problem with the way Zeltrons presented themselves to the galaxy, she still believed it was for them alone to decide whether to be treated as such by the rest of the galaxy. Lina found that, when removed from commodification and the eyes of others, she still loved… love. She loved to flirt, to dress strikingly, and to make male, female, and everything in between turn a shade. Fun, yes, but she never wanted to give up the best part of love, choice.
Lina might have grown up around elegant courtesans and traveling with poised beauties, but she also grew up tough. Lina loved the freedom she’d been able to enjoy, but the more she travelled, the more she understood that it wasn’t just Zeltrons that were belittled and reduced to their basest forms. The Empire was taking choice, love, and freedom from the galaxy. Unfortunately, being so close to the Core Worlds, the Empire kept a close watch over those who harbored even an iota of disdain for the Empire. She found herself on the wrong side of these eyes when she ferociously fought off two Imperial Army troopers who were harassing an Ithorian girl for bumping into one of them during their patrol. The troopers were so badly beaten that stormtroopers intervened and seized the Zeltron and Ithorian girls. After their sentencing without trial, they were separated. Lina was sent to an Imperial prison facility near the Delrian system, and the Ithorian girl, Lak’gua, was sent off to stars-know-where.
Motivation
However, fortune would smile on Lina two years later, after the Battle of Tanaab. A small expeditionary force conducted a sweep of the nearby systems and happened upon the prison world where the Zeltron woman was being held. Lina wanted to give thanks to the Alliance who’d helped rescue hundreds of beings from the desolation and despair of those dungeons in any way she could. She hadn’t the combat experience necessary to join the Rebellion on the ground, but after requesting some simulator trials, the pilots aboard the Calamari cruiser Restitution found she had some skill as a pilot. For Lina, flying was less a game and more another love. Another outlet to unleash those powerful feelings. A way for her to choose whatever path she wanted.
Duties
Recruitment: Whenever not directly on the battlefield, Lina has been tasked by her commanders to flit from one friendly system to the next, and through her earnest nature and charm, aid the Alliance recruitment corps in convincing and facilitating eager beings to lend the Rebellion a hand.
Description
A Zeltron of an equivalent young-adult human age and average height for her species, Lina sports the typical reddish-pink skin color of her species. Her face and upper torso are dotted with freckles, a somewhat rare trait in a Zeltron, seen every few generations. Her hair is a deep violet and cut short for an easier time inside the cockpit. She has a few scars from her time in recovery after the Battle of Endor, seen mostly on her face and back.
