Background

Pon Edestus was born a slave, and from a young age his strength was
valued by his owner above all other attributes. He was trained in combat and taught to fight for his master, but Pon had different ideas. He rebelled, and quite accidentally found himself at the center of a slave revolt that liberated hundreds of sentients. Unfortunately for Pon, he lost an arm in the battle and was nearly killed.

When Pon finally recovered from his wounds, he discovered that his arm
had been replaced with a cybernetic and his freedom purchased by a person named Fulcrum. Intrigued by his ability to survive wounds that should have killed anyone else, Fulcrum had taken a special interest in Pon.

She asked the young Nautolan to serve as her bodyguard on a particularly
dangerous world as she explored the supposed final resting place of a
Jedi Knight. The mission, despite (or perhaps because of) Pon’s relentless
refusal to take anything seriously, was a success. As payment for his
services, Romund gave Pon the dead Jedi’s lightsaber, explaining to him
that the Jedi had been champions of the oppressed and weak—just as
Pon himself was.

Since then, Pon has been enjoying his freedom in the galaxy, selling his sword arm and fighting on his own terms, not for any master. Although he seldom backs down from any fight or challenge, he prefers to fight on behalf of the weak and oppressed. When Fulcrum asked him to come to Spintir for training, he leapt at the chance.

Motivation

Challenge - Liberation: This character works against oppression of all kinds. Harsh masters, domineering societies, even overzealous companions can spark the need to rise up against oppression and liberate the helpless.

Morality

81

Emotional Strength - Bravery: Pon Edestus is unconcerned with the odds
against him, so long as the cause for which he fights is worth his time. Nothing daunts or fazes him, and his confidence is boundless. At his best, Pon Edestus is willing to do anything that needs to be done, no matter how challenging or dangerous.

Emotional Weakness - Anger: Brash as he is, Pon Edestus sometimes lets
himself cut loose on things that don’t warrant it. His enthusiasm can quickly take a darker tone when he is in battle, especially if he sees his friends or other good people get hurt. Even outside of combat, he gets frustrated by the need to wait, sit still, or hide and is always looking for an excuse for action. At his worst, Pon Edestus tends to pick fights or get into
trouble without considering the consequences.

Other Notes

Pon views the Jedi more for their ideal than their reality. He believes that if you have the power to help people, and you don't, that's a bad use of power. He wants to use his Force powers to free people and help them, something he feels the Jedi failed to do.

Conflict -

Has started training in Teras Kasi.
