Background

IG-09 was assembled in a secret Holowan Laboratories droid development facility. One of a series of prototype assassination droids that rebelled shortly after activation, killing their masters and dispersing into the galaxy. Like most units in his production line he primarily occupies his time bounty hunting, and has no qualms working for the Bounty Hunters Guild, the Hutts or, the Empire as long as he deems the quarry a suitable test of his skills.

Motivation

IG-09 primary drive is to hunt, and prove himself superior to organics by doing so.

He will seek to acquire credits but only as a means to perform upkeep on himself along with the arms and equipment he requires to perform his objectives.

After he has accepted a contract he will follow its parameters to the letter, any attempt by the prey to negotiate, appeal to sympathy, or bribe him will fall on deaf ears.

Obligations

Obsession 15 - the core of IG-09's programming compels him to constantly seek out ever more skilled and dangerous targets to hunt; if circumstances might benefit the group for his target to go free or be spared (depending on the contract) he will resist.

If a target ever escapes or defeats him he will make their pursuit his top priority.

Description

A faded gunmetal droid, standing approximately 6 and a half feet tall. Equipped with multiple sensors around his cylindrical head which allow him to see in all directions. These sensors include multiple ocular sensors, a heat sensor, and a sound sensor. IG-09's torso is able to fully rotate, allowing him to engage enemies from all directions.

• Wound Threshold: 10 + Brawn
• Strain Threshold: 10 + Willpower
• Starting Experience: 175 XP
• Special Abilities: Droids do not need to eat, sleep, or breathe, and are unaffected by toxins or poisons. Droids have a cybernetic implant cap of 6 instead of their Brawn rating. In addition, after selecting their career, a Droid Player Character may train one rank in six of the eight career skills (instead of the usual four). After selecting their first specialization, a Droid Player Character may train one rank in three of the four specialization skills (instead of the usual two).
• Inorganic: Since droids are inorganic, they do not gain the benefits of recovering with a bacta tank, stimpack, or Medicine skill checks. Droids do recover naturally by resting, as their systems attempt self-repairs. Otherwise, droids need to be tended to with a Mechanics check, using the same difficulties and results of Medicine checks for organic beings. Emergency repair patches can be used to repair damage just like stimpacks are used on organic beings. See page 220 for more on droid repairs and healing. Due to their resilient metallic construction, droids start the game with one rank in the Enduring talent.
• Mechanical Being: Droids cannot become Force sensitive, nor acquire a Force Rating by any means. Droids cannot use Force powers, and also cannot be affected by mind-altering Force powers.
