Zek Kryze was born on Concordia during the clone wars to Parents of the Kryze clan who had been banished by the Pacifistic New Mandalorian government led by his distant relative.

He was 8 years old when his people took back Mandalore. He was 9 when the Empire happened.

He was raised according to the traditional ways, The Resol'nare. He was educated, he was shown how to fight, he breathed the value of community and family. He watched first hand as another page in the Mandalorian oppression, as the Empire used and abused his people.

When the time came, Dakar was inducted to the Imperial Academy to begin his advanced training and indoctrination as a Special Forces Imperial Commando. Though he had conflicted feelings on the Empire his duty to his clan and family was to Support the Empire.

His eventful career in the Imperial Military led him to a placement in a special Super Commando squad under the command of the ISB, on the Ascension for a mission to subjugate an underdeveloped world for the empire.

Something about that mission put Zek off his focus, and he was injured during operations. It must have been the noble struggle of the locals as they fought a losing battle against the empire, along with the rising strife back on Mandalore that let his guard down. Imperial Armor is wonderful against blasters, but a lucky arrow can do some damage.

When he came to, Zek was back on the Ascension healing in its medical bay and there were ship-security surrounding him. There had been a mutiny, by the Ship's commander and the majority of the crew had remained loyal to him. When the ranking ISB officer commanded orbital bombardment after a long campaign of atrocity enough was enough, and the crew mutinied. Unfortunately for Zek, he was laying in a traitor's med bay wearing his ISB uniform.

Playing possum would only last for so long, so Zek put all of his training into effect, seized an opening and overcame the posted guards. Quickly acting to seal the med bay from outside access and secure the guards and doctors, he contacted the bridge to negotiate terms.

When Commander Kelyst informed Zek of his intention to join the Rebellion, Zek saw an opportunity to do something for his home world.
