Background
Hougutt Bokkum, also known as Bob, Started out in the Republic, served in the clone wars as a captain of an arquintens, stuck with it when the Galactic Republic was reformed into the Galactic Empire, thinking it just a brand change. Wasn't happy when it turned out a lot changed. Everything became more grey and official, people started being oppressed, no more mercy missions (which used to suck, but hey, they were the right thing to do), the over-reliance on super weapons, etc. Really not liking his new work environment he spoke up and complained about it. Subsequently, he got demoted badly because the Empire doesn't like complaining. He ended up a fighter pilot on some back water world where he was supposed to die quickly.
He survived though and through hard work managed to climb back up the ladder, becoming a squadron leader and eventually a naval captain, in starfighter command on an imperial prison world. Still semi-loyal to the Empire, he really does not agree with their methods and shouldn't be hard to be convinced to leave it behind and join a more worthy cause.
Motivation
Bob beliefs in the Republic and everything it stood for. He is very disappointed with what it has become and longs back to the glory days of the the Galactic Republic where, despite it's many flaws, everyone had a say and there was yet justice and peace for a very long time. He dislikes the heavy reliance on fear and power to rule people and disagrees with the Tarkin doctrine. Thinking that though super weapons have their uses, they should not be relied on to win wars, nor be the focus of the Imperial naval effort.

He beliefs that due to his experience, it's his duty to help the Rebellion achieve this.
Description
A Correlian male of average height, Bob is towards the older side of middle aged (40-46), his hair already starting to gray in places. He walks with the stature, command and pride that is to be expected from a man of his rank and experience and speaks with the same command. Despite looking past his prime, he is showing no signs of being any weaker than he was during his younger years.
