Wanderer with a vision

Silak was born on a vibrant colony on the many-rocks of the Roche asteroid belt. Unusually for verpine, Silak's people thrived on trading with the rest of the galaxy and so he was brought up knowing much about the more common races of the galaxy and how to read them. More optimistically he saw how people could work together, even without the close bonds of his species, and how people could live alone comfortably.

The force has nearly always been with Silak. For most of his life it has had a subtle touch: a nudge to notice something here, a push out of danger there. But once it gave him a sobering vision, showing him how the galaxy had fallen to the dark side, how The Empire had seized control and ruined everything it touched.

Disturbed by the vision, Silak agonized over what to do about it for over a year. Just how did one insect, no matter how handsome, take on the entire Empire?

Silak felt the answer lay in the people who The Empire has conquered.

He left Roche looking for a way to follow his vision, and fell in with the explorer Dr Lutea and her bunch of weirdos.
