Viil Shivek was born on Uvena III and grew up in the household of a Shistavanen merchant who served as the middleman in and around the Uvena System during the Republic Era. His parents were members of a clan of Shistavanen who operated a loose coalition of merchant businesses and conducted trade between the Shistavanen and the rest of the galaxy. He is the fifth of nine children.

Viil worked since childhood on his parent's cargo freighters as a hauler and pilot. When he had free time he and his twin Nieca would go out into the wastes to explore, shoot vermin, and dare each other to commit increasingly risky stunts. He also frequently physically fought with his older brothers, often getting beaten mercilessly.

During the Clone Wars, Woor, Neica, and Viil left the family business with the permission of the clan to travel to nearby Sullust and join SoroSuub as combat scouts for the CIS. They fought in the Battle of Sullust. After the battle Neica got a job as a bodyguard with a Hutt while Woor and Viil continued to work as bounty hunters for SoroSuub.

In the chaos of the end of the Clone Wars and during the rise of the Empire, Viil and Woor learned that a convoy of Shistavanen freighters belonging to their clan's merchant business and crewed by members of their clan had been attacked. Some vessels had been destroyed, some were missing, and others had been looted and abandoned. Over 30 members of Viil's clan died, including his youngest brother Riv, his father, and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. His mother had been sold into slavery in Hutt space but she was recovered by Neica.

Since the raid Lek has taken the mantle as leader of the clan and commissioned Viil to find all of his missing siblings and return them. Once his missing siblings are recovered, he is to do everything he can to bring back Woor and Neica.

Lek runs the family business since the raid on their clan and death of their relatives. Masv, Rovs, and Vek disappeared after the raid and their whereabouts are unknown. Riv was killed in the raid. Neica (Viil's twin) is a bodyguard for a Hutt since before the raid. Woor works as a scout for the Empire in the Outer Rim since the raid. Shi is unaccounted for, she was last known to be working in the Corporate Sector.

Viil is personally motivated by an immense pride in himself. He views his family as an extension of himself, and can therefore feel very controlling and personally responsible for his family members, even those he dislikes.

This, alongside a slight kleptomania habit, has led to his drive to recover his family members.

He is obliged to do anything he can to pursue leads on his missing family members.

He is also obliged to assist his siblings in the galaxy where he can.

Viil Shivek is a 5' 10" male Shistavanen with sandy brown fur and blueish gray skin. He has yellow eyes, a scar on the right side of his face from a cut, and a blaster scar from a grazing shot on the inside of his left calf where the fur is permanently burned away.
