Duran was a former slave for the Hutts on Nal Hutta. He was physically strong and agile and also quick and knowledgeable. His master recognized these qualities in him and lifted him out of the gas mines and into the arena, where he was forced to fight for his life. As his ability and prowess grew, Duran started getting sent on missions, becoming a sort of combat engineer.

He would be part of a small squad led by a taskmaster, told to go into the most inhospitable environments and find anything of value to extract. If they found something, they would build the mine from the ground up, get it habitable and then move on to the next place.

After years of slavery, eventually Duran had the opportunity for escape. He was sent out on a task with just one taskmaster. In the middle of the night, Duran slit his throat, deactivated his collar and fled, carrying only the bare essentials.

Duran values his freedom above all else and will do whatever it takes to make sure he does not end up in someone elses thrall. He also seeks to put his skills to better use, taking the tainted knowledge he acquired from the Hutts and doing something meaningful with it.

Bounty 15: Duran is an escaped slave and wanted for the murder of a Taskmaster. There is a high bounty on his head from the Hutts.

Duran is well built and moves with flowing grace. His clothes are plain and simple, a khaki uniform that is hard wearing but otherwise non descript. His hair is a mess and he often covers his face with mud to try and blend in with his environment.
