Jayce Kar'tel was born in the Imperial City of Coruscant. His family is a prominent part of the empire ranging from Officers to Engineers and Scientists. Ever since he was young he never was the one to just listen and obey. Like an annoying child who never seems to be satisfied with an answer he always have to question why. This inquisitive mind helped him through the Academy where he graduated as a doctor of medicine. One of his dream was to find a way to clean the lower levels of Coruscant.
After he graduated he became part of the Empire Military. In his mind he wanted to help those wounded in battle but the higher officers have another thing in mind. They use Jayce's expertise on medicine as a weapon. They made him create biological weapon to use against the rebels and to make chemicals to be used as torture drugs. He wanted to leave but he doesn't know what will happen to his family if ever he betray the empire. At the very least he wanted to have a different job within the empire.
When a chance appeared for him to tranfer to an outerim planet he immediately took it. He volunteered to be transfer to Lothal as a medic. On the way there he was travelling in a transport ship with a bunch of medical supplies when they encountered a rebel blockade. The crew and their cargo was captured and brought back to an the Imperial planet of Carceron. There Jayce discovered the state of the Empire outside of the Imperial City. It was far from the Universal Order the empire brings that was taught to JC while he's in the Academy. He learned that like in Coruscant the high class and the low class.
Jayce convinced the rebels that he wanted to help. At first they were hesitant and he was allowed to help but with guards. Eventually he became one of the more valuable rebel recruit in Carceron.

Description
​Jayce has a curious mind even amidst chaos he would stop and examine something he deems interesting. On the surface he is optimistic, he tries to cheer everyone up if everything is getting bleak but deep inside he is calculating and pragmatic. He is cautious in battle but he will run to any allies that might need his help. Being a scientist he is open-minded and will accept any opinion if they are valid but he's also not afraid to defend his own opinion if he thinks it's right.
