Background
The granddaughter of famed podracer Ratts Tyerell, Kiti Tyerell was born in 13 BBY and did not follow her family's opposition to podracing, caused by her grandfather's death - instead, she became a podracer herself. Her natural affinity with the Force allowed her to dominate the sport, at the cost of her family disowning her. Hurt, but always one to keep a cheerful face, she was recruited into the New Jedi Order by Luke Skywalker; she saw it as a way to leave podracing behind and, hopefully, reconnect with her family.
