Background
Syrin Kellar was born the child of a family of cyberneticists that ran a shop in the middle of nowhere. She grew up surrounded by replacement limbs and eyes and everything in between, learning the trade as she grew up. Although her learning wasn't quite illegal, it also wasn't formal either, meaning that she wouldn't be eligible for a job in the middle of the Core Worlds or anything like that any time soon.
At first, the job she took as a mechanic and copilot for one Reid Highrider was only on again, off again. Syrin was close to inheriting the family business, and she didn't want to risk that. However, she spent more and more time on his ship, fixing his systems and getting little to no thanks in return.
Things took a turn for the worse when Reid accepted a "parcel delivery" and refused to tell Syrin what it was. He flew with her halfway across the galaxy to an unknown planet, sold it to somebody that she was pretty sure wasn't the intended recipient, and pocketed all of the credits for himself. The ensuing argument on her way back home resulted in Reid accidentally revealing that the package was supposed to go to a fragment of the Black Sun, and that they very much had not delivered the package there.
The argument promptly turned into a massive spat instead, resulting in Syrin -- now involved with Reid's backstabbing and pissed at the results -- getting dumped on a planet where said crime syndicate had a presence. The following time was spent preventing herself from being caught with her fusion cutter as a weapon, obtaining a knife, and watching the absolute torment that occurred on this planet. Due to the Black Sun's presence, it meant that activities such as slave trafficking took place in broader starlight, allowing Syrin to develop an immense distaste for the whole thing. When given the opportunity to step in and save one (1) person from getting himself killed, she seized it, finding out later that it was one (1) Jastin Tobs, who promptly offered her a job. She's been with the Plaguers ever since, mostly functioning as Jastin's copilot and the one who's made sure that he hasn't gotten himself killed due to his insane stunts in the cockpit. Seriously, you'd think the guy had outside help or something.
Motivation
Freedom: Having her own choice snatched away due to being stranded, along with watching the mistreatment and suffering of slaves during her abandonment, has led Syrin to develop a massive anti-slavery streak. She takes this goal seriously, sometimes to the point of being overbearing.
Obligations
Betrayal 5 // Reid Highrider never did treat his mechanic very well. Due to the sheer amount of strain between Syrin and Reid, not the least reduced by the fact that he abandoned her on a planet after a job of his gone wrong, these two meeting again would mean sparks flying, and not in a good way.
Bounty 5 // Due to her involvement with Reid Highrider as his copilot and mechanic, the Black Sun fragment that was supposed to get that shipment has decided to instead use the payment money as a bounty. Syrin doesn't know the 'dead or alive' details, and she doesn't particularly care to find out.
Description
Light brown hair cut short, hazel eyes, tanned skin tone (especially due to the environment on Tatooine), surprisingly toned. Tends to have at least one smudge on her at all times. 5'11" tall.
