Background
Built as a riot suppression droid during the very early days of the empire to help "ease" the transition for former separatist worlds to rejoin the empire. T42-3R was built to shut down any form of mass protest against the new empire on outlying worlds. While massive and capable of extreme destruction, in both a bid to separate these droids from the former battle droids and to mitigate the risk of them being turned back on the empire, these droids were programmed with a strong aversion to taking lethal action.
As the frontier repression approached it's final stages, the T42 series was removed from active duty and were mothballed in various imperial depots. Many of these droids found themselves in the hands of unscrupulous elements as a number of warehouse managers are eager to make a quick credit selling off obsolete equipment.
T42-3R was sold to slavers on Kashyyk; an optimal use, as T42s are some of the few machines capable of overpowering a fully grown Wookie. 3R served as security on export pens until he was disabled during an attack by rebellious Wookies. His deactivated form was taken by the Wookie attackers and reprogrammed to assist in their efforts; this reprogramming resulted in several side effects which were then exacerbated by battle damage and rushed repairs. After many skirmishes, the Wookies bestowed the name Terentatek, usually called Tek, upon him as his raw strength and battle prowess reminded them of the dreaded hunter. Eventually the combined mess of programming and damage resulted in the spark of sentience in Tek's processing units. Once it became clear to the Wookies that this had happened, they told him they couldn't in good faith keep him fighting their fight, that that would be no better than the slavery they fought against continually. They asked one final favor from him. So after storming an outbound slave freighter and freeing it's cargo, Tek found himself on a new planet, owning himself for the first time.
Motivation
Code: Live Capture
Tek has been programmed to deal non-lethal damage. Over the time since his sentience has evolved, he has chosen to not have this programming overridden; adopting a code of never taking a life, as all life has value.
Duties
Ground Superiority: 100
While built to control rioting civilians, T42s can deal with troops of Stormtroopers just as efficiently.
CR: 1, Reward Banked

A hulking droid, the design aesthetic is best described as the grace of a fusion cutter crossed with the subtlety of a planetary bombardment. Usually walk on all fours
