Background
Unlike so many of the natives of her home world of Balosar, Emily Nash had a fairly nice childhood. Born Emilia'na Med'nasen, Emily lacked for nothing as the daughter of one of the planet's most notorious spice producers. Her mother ran the family business and although she had little time for her daughter she made sure her child lacked for nothing. Other than a father, of course, but Emily never knew who had managed to get close enough to her paranoid mother to get her pregnant.
Emily was sent to a private school on Coruscant from the age of eight, only visiting Balosar occasionally and getting visits from her mother twice a year at most. Although life could be tough without loving parents as the only Balosar in a predominantly human school, Emily adapted well. She started hiding her origins when she was transferred to another school, pretending to be a human and getting her mother to change her name to Emily Nash in the official records on Coruscant.
Although she felt she never fitted in, she was always surrounded with people who probably thought she was their friend. In reality she had problems connecting with people, trusting them and forming real bonds of friendship. After performing in a low-budget school holo she realized she had found what she wanted to do with her life. She convinced her mother to pay for acting school and private lessons. Emily turned out to be a talented actress, and since she hid the fact she was a Balosar quite well only a select few knew her secret. Mostly the droids who did her hair, but she had a way with those and they never blew her cover.
Emily had a couple of great years as an actress, landing roles in holo-dramas and holo-episodes and getting noticed by large production companies. Her mother's imprisonment following an investigation into her criminal network was a blow, but Emily was on the verge of becoming a galaxy-known holo-star.
Her blooming career took a nosedive when a gossip-driven holo-news channel surprised her in an interview by confronting her about being a non-human. They had meant it to be a sensational story about a non-human doing great in the holos playing humans, but it tarnished her reputation in an increasingly human-centric business. Soon the comms stopped chirping and she was forced to take on smaller parts just to keep her head above the water.
After a couple of years of this, she ran into an old friend from acting school, Orron Thal. She had always had a bit of a thing for him, and when he asked her for a favor she quickly said yes. As it turned out, Orron was working as an Intelligence Officer for the Rebel Alliance. With Emily's help he managed to get access codes off a corrupt imperial Colonel. Emily had more fun than she had experienced in years on the mission, and once the job was done Orron got permission to bring her in, recruiting her as an intelligence operative.
Since Emily had no military training, her knowledge about espionage and fighting was limited to a few holo-blockbusters she'd been in. Rebel Intelligence gave her a crash course, teaching her the basic of the type of field-craft she'd need on the job. She took to it like fish to water, quickly picking up the basics.
After a few missions with other agents she was transferred to a rebel cell operating in the Albarrio Sector, as the cell found itself short on people with her particular skill set.
Motivation
Species Rights
Emily has been on the receiving end of the humanity-first policy of the Empire and is determined to see the end of that policy and the Empire that created it. The Rebel Alliance seems to be the best way to do that.
Thrill
Taking on Imperial agents in a game of cat and mouse is probably one of the most dangerous games being played in the galaxy and Emily is loving every moment. She is addicted to the adrenaline and danger, finding this life far more exciting than the life of the holo-star.
Duties
Duty: Intelligence (0)
Emily was recruited by Alliance Intelligence for her acting talents and people skills. After going through basic intelligence training Emely knows information and misinformation wins wars. Her primary duty is the procurement of such intelligence.
Description
Although Emily has never had the classic holo-star stunning looks, she's a
good looking woman who turns heads wherever she goes. Although she barely clears 160 cm in height she is well-proportioned and fit. Her face is attractive, with high cheekbones, well-proportioned nose and jaw and large brown eyes that many say is her most attractive feature. She usually lets her black hair grow fairly long, often pulling it up in a bun to make it easier for her to hide her antennapalps, when posing as a human.
When at a rebel base, Emily tends to dress casually, only wearing an actual uniform when attending a meeting where lack of uniform might get her into trouble. When on a mission her wardrobe is carefully selected to fit the environment and possible challenges, be that a ball gown when meeting a contact in a classy casino, or black synth-leather when infiltrating an enemy position.
