Background

AX-G11 allegedly belongs to a standard production line of high-end protocol droids produced by Hajibar InfiniMech on Foerost. Reluctant to discuss his distant past, insisting that it is of little relevance, Axe makes little secret of the fact that the majority of his owners met violent ends through (allegedly) no fault of his own.

Over time, his primary programming as a protocol droid lead him to conclude that in order to achieve his function, his master must live. Refusing to acquiesce to memory defragmentations, Axe has developed several single-minded idiosyncrasies that are likely based in this same refusal, which in turn stems from his primary programming function; or so he happily explains.

Whatever the case, AX-G11 is fiercely loyal to his owner and his owners' goal(s), as well as deeply, deeply reluctant to deviate from promises given or courses taken once committed.

Motivation

• Creed, Strive for Excellence:
Axe believes in self-improvement. Not just of himself, but of everyone, everywhere. Everything has a place in the machinery of reality, and it should strive to fulfill its role to the best of its ability. In Axe's case, that is the protection of his charge as a bodyguard, and he will die to defend them if necessary.

• Code, Finish the Job:
Axe's word is irrevocable, and once he has taken a contract and been given an order, he will pursue it at nearly any cost. While a job might be put on hiatus, once it has begun, he can never abandon or forget it, possibly even if the client attempts to rescind it, and he will die to see his purpose met.

Duties

• Support (0):
Axe's very nature is built around support duties, whether it comes down to facilitating communications between terrorist cells or any of the many disparate individuals in the rebellion, aid in diplomatic efforts and interrogations, or simply act as a bodyguard to his owner to the best of his ability.

As a protocol droid, he seeks to foster cohesion and cooperation, soothing egos and reigning in wild impulses. As a bodyguard, he seeks to protect his owner and his charges in the performance of their own duties.

Description

AX-G11, nicknamed "Axe", is a mostly rust-red or brown protocol droid of fairly average humanoid modeling, with striped sections of his plating colored in an dull ultramarine blue.

Many sections of his body are clearly scuffed, while others appear to be brand new, resulting in a somewhat eclectic look with an aura of indeterminate age.

For a mere protocol droid, his light plating stands out, as do the many obvious compartments on his chest, legs, and arms, which many less savory owners would take great pains to hide for smuggling or security. In addition, several antennae can be extended on his left shoulder, allowing him to communicate or act as a long-range communications array.

Other Notes

Several minor liberties have been taken in generating AX-G11 in order for him to conform with the basic protocol droid outline, most notably breaking the normally hard rule of only starting with a maximum of 2 ranks in any one skill, having Knowledge (Xenology) and Knowledge (Education) at Rank 3. Further, the Bodyguard specialization has been bought in advance to lay the foundation of AX-G11's background and future as a bodyguard.

This means that AX-G11 should be at -20 XP; it makes no functional difference and is mostly as a matter of flavor and planning for further advances. As a result, his first 20 XP earned should go straight into "Total XP" and never be "Available XP".

Loosely inspired by:
• C-3P0, Star Wars: A New Hope.
• HK-47, Knights of the Old Republic.
• Judge Dredd, Judge Dredd.
• Samwise Gamgee, Lord of the Rings.
• Boromir, Lord of the Rings.
• Spock, Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan.

Character notes & keywords:
• Completely amoral (but not immoral).
• Methodical & Cautious.
• Impassive & Stoic.
• Dutiful & Devoted.
• Very high likelihood of committing warcrimes.
