Background
Abandoned as a baby by his human parents, TJ was adopted by a large Twi'lek family who happened to be visiting the Republic DMV outside of which TJ had been left. Of course, they took him in and raised him as one of their own, even giving him a long and complicated Twi'lek name that is almost impossible to pronounce - hence, TJ.
Although TJ's time with his loving Twi'lek family was elucidating, formative, and enjoyable, he left home as a seven year old to begin training at the Jedi Academy on Coruscant after faking his way through the preliminary Jedi trials with some slight of hand tricks and his unusually high emotional intelligence. These skills, applied chiefly in service of TJ's many misadventures and schemes, would prove to be reoccurring themes in his life over the course of the following decades.
Although he was able to maintain the charade for several years, TJ was expelled from the Jedi Academy at 13 when he was found to have installed fishing wires and a complex pulley system in order to make it seem as though he was manipulating objects with the force. Since then, TJ has found himself bouncing from planet to planet, being grossly under-qualified to be working the odd jobs he picked up along the way.
Motivation
Although mildly curious about why his human parents abandoned him at the DMV, TJ mostly gets his thrills from running a new con. He doesn't even see himself as a fraudster as much as he considers himself an ever-growing student of the galactic condition. What are the people afraid of? What do they want to hear? How many different lives can he lead? In the near-infinite sandbox that is an expansive galaxy home to countless worlds, TJ is always on the hunt to discover something new.
He also enjoys PiƱa Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
Obligations
1. A slight chance I may have committed some minor treason while working as a real estate broker on megacity planet Denon, selling a condo to Pedrin Gaul (Red Five)'s parents. (10 Betrayal Obligation - treason against Empire, but not super high on their list of priorities) (4 BBY)
2. Love affair with Anasa Blon - a beautiful and brilliant twi'lek legal secretary with whom I worked for a time while posing as a lawyer on Neimoidia. Together, we did significant work negotiating the legalization and repatriation of Ryll and Ryll Kor spice, which was mined on Ryloth, but that the Neimoidians had the rights to distribute. A huge win for the Twi'lek economy (and my bank account), this work would coincidentally prove essential to eventually developing a cure for the Krytos Virus. She has no idea that I am not a lawyer, and currently thinks that I am working as a freelance consultant for a droid manufacturer. Even she can't pronounce my full name. (5 Responsibility Obligation - want to protect her but also keep my secret) (2 BBY)
3. Accidentally exposed an underground cloning operation while plying my trade as a private investigator on the industrial and darkly urban planet of Fondor. At the time, I was working for a Devaronian pimp who wanted to know why business was drying up. One thing led to another, and before I knew it the CEO of a major shipbuilding corporation was arrested and subsequently convicted. Her sons never forgave me. (5 Bounty Obligation - the occasional bounty hunter comes after me that I have to deal with) (12 BBY)
Description
Not a particularly remarkable man physically, weighing in at a sturdy 5'9'' 185 lbs, TJ is roughly 40 years old and is beginning to demonstrate the onset of what seems to be a tiny little bit of male pattern baldness.
TJ also demonstrates a knack for dressing appropriately for whatever job he happens to be doing.
