CT-2744 fought on Geonosis. Like many troopers, his LAAT, and his platoon, were shot down during the initial assault. It was a gentle crash, by standards of the day, and most of the platoon stayed in fighting shape. Cut off from the rest of the assault, he and the men held a defensive position around the wreckage. Fighting became desperate, and thinking quickly, 2744 lashed two of the DC-15 rifles together to form a crude emplaced weapon. The increase in firepower opened a path to evacuate the wounded and for several troopers to gather a relief force. His quick thinking landed him a promotion and the nickname "Double-Barrel"
