Mirial has ever been a staunch supporter of the Republic, and no less so now with the political turmoil of secession and rumours of war. It's no surprise then to find Mirialan among the political ranks of the Republic, serving the Senate and representing the best interests of Mirial and fighting the growing animosity inspired by Separatist agitators. Nola is one of many to have been brought forward as a senatorial aide, a junior representative of Mirial's Senate attaché. She is, as with many of her homeworld, a firm supporter of the Republic and true democracy. Her passion for politics, and her belief in the fair and equal treatment and trade between all worlds, is what inspired her to attend a meeting with Separatist leaders on Geonosis, accompanying her mother and mentor, Senator Tahiri.

Little did they realise that the brewing tensions would lead to outright war as Jedi and Clones converged on Geonosis in order to rescue captives of Count Dooku. Caught in the cross-fire, Nola's mother was killed and the younger Mirialan taken captive, likely for political leverage.

Democracy! The definition of which also includes the belief that anyone should be able to secede from the Republic as a matter of freedom and choice, but the way in which the Separatists have gone about doing so is what irks Nola the most. Their bullying and illegal invasion and seizures of worlds that are innocent or ignorant to the political deceit, the lies and propaganda that have been spread about unfair taxation and unequal treatment of less productive worlds, these issues are what Nola and her mother had attempted to resolve.
