Born to a low-income family on Corellia sixteen years before the Battle of Yavin, Zanato was born with multiple complications. Initially, it was believed that he would not survive but through some unexplained miracle, the boy survived. As he grew up, it became apparent that he was far from normal. He had fast reflexes and uncommon strength for a child as willowy as him. His light frame and quick reaction time made him an ideal candidate as a pilot. An Imperial recruiter got wind of this talented child, recommending that he join the Imperial Academy on Corellia.

At first, Zanato felt overjoyed to be doing his part for the Empire but as his teachings went on, he began to realize the Empire held a xenophobic stance towards the rest of the citizens of the galaxy. Not only that but when the subject of the Jedi Order came up and the supposedly amazing feats they accomplished by using "the Force", he realized the Empire would stop at no means to wipe out any reference to the Jedi or their beliefs. Fearing his secret abilities could actually be from the Force, Zanato left the Academy and fled home.

He then discovered his parents were devout loyalists to the Empire after revealing to them his potential connection to the Force. Filled with rage and shame, Zanato was disowned by his parents and was told to leave. A teenage Zanato lived in the streets of Coronet for weeks until a passing Rebel took pity upon seeing a child living in such poor conditions.

Zanato proved to be a natural ace and quickly proved he matched the skill of even some of the more veteran pilots. He quickly climbed the ranks, becoming a pilot for Crimson Squadron aboard the capital ship the Nebulon. Now part of the Rebellion, Zanato will do what he can to ensure the Empire's discrimination of any and all beings is brought to an end.

Zanato is a 16-year-old human male, standing at a height of 196cm and weighing 72kg. Although tall and lanky, he is strong and capable of incredible feats of strength due to, unbeknownst to him, his ability to use the Force to enhance his physical power. His hair is brown and medium length; he has teal-colored eyes. He usually wears his rebel pilot uniform when he's flying; when he's not on a mission, he wears his squadron's jacket and slim-fit pants.
