Background
The Twi’lek Warat was born a slave on Nar Shaddaa, owned by a minor Hutt gangster. An agile and quick-thinking kid, he ran with the child street gangs there until he was tapped at an early age to be an arena fighter and start training; much to his parents’ relief, he showed a talent for it and rarely left the ring with more than a few minor wounds or the occasional broken bone. He’s not a bloodthirsty sort, though— out of the ring, he’s fairly laid-back and affable, and makes friends easily. In a fight he’s all business, though.
Even after his parents died, he didn’t think seriously about escaping since he liked what he was doing despite being a slave; it wasn’t until he made friends with another slave who was planning on escaping that he gave it any serious thought. He was recruited into the plot and although he wasn’t able to provide much in the way of planning, he was invaluable when it came time to actually putting the plan into motion.
They escaped and made their way to the Outer Rim, where he changed his name to Bek Haruhana and signed on to a crew that was expecting to need some extra fire support and didn't care that he didn't have official ID. After a few years in the Outer Rim he made his way back inwards, supporting himself with freelancing and the occasional score at the tables, until a friend told him about the latest opportunity and directed him towards the Big Haul cantina.
