Background
Vey Maaril has had a life unlike many Kallidahin. His parents Nef and Tars had to run from the Empire, after his mother became the target of an Imperial officer looking to study the medical knowledge of his mother, a renowned doctor, and his father, a medical engineer.
They arrived on Nar Shaddaa, where they were able to seek the protection of the Gorensla clan, and worked in the Hutt's hospital. They finally settled down, and had a child, Vey.
When he was 5 years old, his mother welcomed the daughter of a former college friend of hers : Kalla Nyx, a 14 year old Mikkian, all alone on a planet she didn't know. Vey grew up alongside her, thinking of her as his big sister. He was also close to Kalla's best friend, Selena.
One day, Vey heard of a group of armed man seen in front of the hospital, looking for his father. Vey hopped onto his speeder and drove as fast as he could to alert him; he'd always had a knack for it. However he was too slow : the men had taken his father captive, and Vey hasn't seen him since.
After some years spent working for Loyood as Selena's designated pilot, Vey was feeling frustrated. When Kalla left the planet, and asked for his mother to join her aboard Selena's ship, Vey jumped on the occasion, with one goal in mind : free his father from the Empire.
Motivation
Rescue: The PC has a loved one, a family, a group of colleagues, or perhaps even an entire planet he is hoping to see rescued from Imperial control. He is in the Alliance because they offer the best chance he has to save those he seeks to rescue.
Vey is looking to free his father, made captive by the EMpire. He feels strongly for the people who've lost their freedom, and desires above all else to break their chains.
Duties
Support (165):
The Rebel Alliance succeeds because of teamwork. From a vehicle, Aces are able to support missions by providing escort, mission insertion and extraction, sensor data, communications, and more. This PC is devoted to helping his fellow Rebels achieve their Duties by providing whatever assistance they need. Although he may not get the same amount of reward or recognition as the people he is helping, the PC has many more opportunities than his allies do to fulfill his Duty to the Rebellion.
Like a lot of his people, Vey is very quick to grow attached to his comrades. In all situations, he tries to help them and assist them, as he knows that there is no I in team.
Description
Vey is 25 years old. He's relatively small for a Polis Massan, standing at 1m30. He otherwise looks very similar to other members of his species : other Kallidahin say that he has the eyes of his mother.
He has a voicebox that he likes to tune to a very deep voice, making for a rather comical contrast. In general, he's a rather carefree individual, always in a good mood and trying to cheer up his brothers and sisters. He can be rather annoying and be glued to people he really appreciates.
His mother Nef works on the Lunar Wanderer as a doctor; he himself pilots the ship whenever he gets the chance.
